Yesterday was the first time in my life (aside from possibly my first Halloween), that I did not eat a single bite of Halloween candy.
My son, on the other hand, pulled a haul of 14 pounds of candy, walking 15,880 steps (most of which was trick or treating), and then proceeded to sort and pack his candy by brand.
Sorting is a long tradition he's had, and once upon a time, he graphed his haul for a school project.
I'm not sure how much he ate last night, but when he woke up this morning he complained about his legs being sore, not his tummy. I'll take that as a win.
As for me, proving that mindset shifts are possible, I focused on the hard work I've been putting in over the last 3 months to get to my goal weight. I've seen incredible results and I'm so close to my goal. I realized Halloween candy isn't worth hurting or pausing my progress.
Do I have a goal weight and measurements in mind? Yes. But it's more than that. It's about feeling good, having energy, and liking what I see in the mirror. We are our own harshest critics after all.
It's also about being around for a long time. I am blessed to still have both my parents alive. I want my kids to have me around for a long time. I have to do my part, and that means eating healthy, and being strict with my diet until I can get to a maintenance mode.
I am an active person who loves the outdoors, traveling, and exploring new places. If I don't have my health and energy, those things become more difficult.
I have my why, my purpose, and my goals. That's why I've been able to stick to a strict meal plan and exercise on a regular basis. I did incline chest presses using 20 pound weights today. That's great for me. One day I'll get to 25 pound weights.
These principles can be applied to business. When you have a goal, a direction, and a clear intention/why/purpose, it's easy to stay on course and take action towards your goal.
Yesterday was another first for me. I soft-launched my global community. More to come on that milestone.
With two months left in 2024, what are you doing to achieve your goals?
