What comes to mind when you hear that an event will be held in a mansion?
“How luxurious!”
“It must be a fancy event.”
What if you had the opportunity to stay in a mansion for a work retreat?
“I bet it would be fun to stay in a mansion.”
“I deserve this!”
“I feel spoiled.”
We agree. All of these thoughts definitely have a place in your mind and most of them can become your reality as a participant in the Work On Your Business (WOYB) Retreat, April 21-24, 2022. A mansion isn’t just about the luxurious treatment though, there’s much more to the initial allure of a mansion.
The WOYB Retreat was created to provide you, the dedicated and determined small business owner, a haven while working intensely on your business. A mansion provides the space for up to 8 small business owners to come together, as well as the space to retreat and rejuvenate.
One of the key features of a mansion is the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, so that every participant can enjoy their own private bath and bedroom. COVID or not, we are too old to share bathrooms with people we don’t know well, or possibly at all. You can imagine how exciting it was to find this Lake Michigan mansion with 9 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms. Located in Racine, WI, it’s just 1.5 hours away from Chicago, Naperville, and most of Chicagoland.
At 9,000 square feet, we have ample space to come together as a group without being on top of each other, as well as the ability to find your own space as needed that allows for options outside of your bedroom (unless that’s where you want to be). It’s an average of 1,000 square feet per person (including me, your host).
It’s my goal that we will use every single room in the mansion at some point during the retreat. There are times when our experts will guide the group together, and other times where there is 1:1 support, or peer feedback. We want to be sure everyone is moving throughout the weekend to keep the energy and creative juices flowing. After all, this isn’t another normal day in your business.
With multiple kitchens, dining rooms, and other common spaces, each participant has the opportunity to spread out. Community is about coming together to bring out the best of each of us, through support, sharing, and creating a safe space.
There are also beautiful views looking out over Lake Michigan. If you are up before 6 AM, you can watch a gorgeous sunrise over the lake, without leaving the house.
There is also an expansive fenced yard leading down to Lake Michigan. This could be an opportunity for a good morning jog or yoga session if the weather cooperates.
You may come into the weekend not knowing any of the other participants. Based on last year’s WOYB, we saw friendships forge, business owners connect, and the best sound of the weekend was laughter as we connected as people. You will leave the retreat with new business colleagues as additional members of your support system; this is an intense working weekend, with opportunities to connect, relax, and relate. That type of experience tends to create strong bonds since you all went through an intense marketing retreat together as you worked on your business.
So that’s why a mansion is an integral part of the WOYB Retreat. We need space to come together and space to retreat. We hope you’ll join us this April to take time to work on your business. You deserve to be pampered as you grow your business.
